PFIZER: TEVA te va a dar duro con su genérico de Viagra...
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. today announced the launch of a generic version of Viagra (Sildenafil) in Europe, confirming last week's report by "Globes."
Teva has launched the drug immediately upon the expiry of brand Viagra's patents in the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, Austria, Belgium and Denmark. It has already launched the product in Spain, Canada, and certain other countries.
Teva is delivering generic Viagra for the treatment of impotence and erectile dysfunction through its wholesaler and pharmacy channels. In line with European legislation, it will not offer the product directly to consumers.
Teva Europe Generics president and CEO Dipankar Bhattacharjee said, “Teva has a proud track record of bringing high-quality generics to the market on day one of patent expiry, and we have been able to launch sildenafil immediately on patent expiry in all the major markets of Europe. The launch today of Sildenafil will bring choice to the pharmacy to help them serve the patient, and to help ensure that high-quality healthcare in Europe is affordable." (Ver)
