Last year, after it issued contaminated quantities of the blood thinner heparin that were tied to nineteen deaths, Illinois-based drug company Baxter International recalled the product and was hit with a number of lawsuits. But Baxter has also been repeatedly accused of exaggerating prices. In July, Baxter Healthcare, a subsidiary of Baxter International, agreed in a settlement with the Kentucky Attorney General's office to pay $2 million after it allegedly overcharged Medicaid for intravenous drugs.
